🏌️ March 2025 Round-Up: A Month of Mud, Mayhem & Midsections

As March limped in with tees barely visible above the swamp and fairways that felt more like battlefield trenches, the brave (or foolish) souls of Hadden Hill soldiered on. Footing was optional. Clean trousers were a fantasy. And if you managed to hit a fairway? Congratulations — you're in the minority and probably lying.

Let’s kick things off with the Top 3 — because they clearly bribed the golfing gods:

🥇 Kevin Carrigan – Kevin racked up a disgustingly smug 45 points. Rumor has it he got confused and thought he was playing cricket, because 45 on this course in these conditions is just ridiculous. Must’ve been that mystical “ball run” everyone’s talking about that only seems to apply to people not in your group.

🥈 Ben Costello – 44 points and apparently two birdies on Hole 7. Either Ben was possessed, or he finally figured out how to swing without closing his eyes. Nicely done, Benny Boy.

🥉 Martin Cox-Rogers – 43 points and still found time to triple the first hole like it owed him money. A classic “Fatmate” performance — chaos with a smile.

Final Thoughts:

March might have been wetter than a Glaswegian BBQ, but at least it gave us laughs, roasts, and some leaderboard chaos. Here’s to drier tees, firmer fairways, and hopefully fewer triple bogeys in April (looking at you, “Beefy”).

Until next time… Keep swinging, keep swearing, and for the love of golf, bring your waterproofs.

📣 David Major

Captain Passion himself clocked in a valiant 39 — which he celebrated like a World Cup win. We’re told he gave a fist pump for a double-bogey save and reminded everyone (again) about the time he scored 12 goals in a school football match. In 1995. Against toddlers. Probably.
