Format: Strokeplay Translation: Every shot counts, and so does every expletive after chunking a wedge.
🏆 Winner:
Cian “Silky” Dunne – Nett 69
That’s right. Nett 69. Golf’s most statistically appropriate and emotionally satisfying number — and Cian served it up like a pint of Guinness on a sunny patio. No fuss, no drama, just quality golf with a touch of sauce.
It wasn’t flashy. It wasn’t loud. But while everyone else was playing hopscotch through the rough, Cian was dialled in like he had cheat codes. A masterclass in playing boring, brilliant golf — and we hate how much we respect it.
🧨 Other Notables:
Nigel Cook – Nett 74. Strong finish, but ultimately just a warm-up act. Like the band you clap politely for before the real show.
Craig Fisher – In contention again. At this point, we’re considering renaming second place to “The Fisher Position.”
Adrian Walker – Took a bold line on Hole 12. Ended up in a different postcode. Still managed to scrape together something vaguely medal-worthy. Just about.
💩 Awards:
🔥 “Meltdown Moment” – Chris MilesHit a fairway wood off the tee, a tree off the second, and the wall behind the 6th green on the third.Made 7. Called it “character building.” We call it “trauma.”
🍻 “Hero to Zero” – Matt CarterBirdied the first. Finished with a 9 on the last.Rollercoaster golf, if the rollercoaster was on fire and made of Lego.
🎣 “Gone Fishing” – Sam RabyLost three balls in five holes. Replaced one with a range ball.No one knows what’s in his bag anymore, including him.
🕳️ Hole Stats:
Hardest Hole: 16th – Once again proving it hates golfers, hopes your shots slice, and probably insults your mother behind your back.
Easiest Hole: 18th – Only because it was playing 100 yards short. If you birdied it, congratulations. You still don’t get to brag. You were basically chipping onto a putting green.
Summary:
Cian Dunne takes the glory and the clubhouse beer voucher.Everyone else takes bruised egos, sunburn, and a serious case of “what if.”Great round. Great number. Great name.Dunne and dusted.
