Winner: Martin “Big Dog” Cox-Rogers – 38 Points
After weeks of weather-fueled chaos, this comp finally gave us a normal course setup — with Holes 1 and 18 back to full distance and the ball rolling like it was being chased by a wasp. Enter Martin Cox-Rogers, swinging freely and looking like a man who'd had enough of being robbed by spreadsheets.
With 38 points, he takes the win — officially, this time, no count back controversy. Just solid golf and the occasional loud grunt.
He held his nerve through the back nine and finished strong, even if it looked like his back might give in before the round ended. A well-earned W for the veteran.
🏆 Notables & Awards:
Craig Fisher is back again sniffing around the top. 38 points as well, but we’ve confirmed with Sarah — Martin gets the dub. Better luck next time, Craig. Again.
Alex Barber walks off with the Fatmate’s MVP award this week — a scrappy 33 points and somehow managed to not break his back putting from 40 feet.
David Fry takes the “Blobs for Days” Trophy — dropping more shots than a karaoke mic on a Friday night.
Alan Albone earns the “Steady Eddy” Shield, mostly for surviving a round without moaning about his back. A first.
🕳️ Hole Highlights:
Hole 16? Still the destroyer of cards and souls. Zero birdies. Plenty of cursing.
Hole 7 (a par 3) coughed up a few twos — suspiciously right after the halfway hut.
Birdie Machine of the Day: Martin with 3 birdies on Holes 1, 9, and 18 — none of them cheap this time, all earned.
